Janice L. Meade died on November 6, 2025 in Owensboro, KY under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. She was born on February 18, 1944, just a few seconds after her twin sister, Lyn, to the late Donald M. Frase, Sr. and Virginia A. (Fish) Frase. Jan was a member of Calvary Wesleyan Church/Wesleyan Christian Center where she was active for many years as pianist, in children’s ministry, Wesleyan Women Mission’s Society, several committees, and serving anywhere she saw a need. She was also a part of the First Free Will Baptist Church family for the past several years. She had retired from Daviess County Public Schools after working many years as a teacher at West Louisville Elementary School. She was a graduate of Norton High School, Norton, Ohio and Indiana Wesleyan University. She and her husband of 59 years, Ron Meade, served in the missionary field of Zambia, Africa in the years of 1971-1973. Returning to the States, they served in ministry at the Kingswood Wesleyan Church in Kingswood, KY before settling in Owensboro to teach and raise a family. Jan had a love for people and a genuine interest in getting to know everyone she met. She enjoyed playing piano, cooking and baking, and welcoming people into her home and visiting, always generous with her time. She was always looking for ways to be a help to someone, wanting most of all for them to know God’s love for them.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her beloved Aunt Bea, Mary Elizabeth (Fish) Hawkins, brother-in-law Duaine Snyder, and sister-in-law Diana (Meade) Hajdu.

Surviving are her husband, Ronald T. Meade; three children: Ryan (Kate) Meade of Calhoun, Janelle Meade of Owensboro, and Jeff (Danielle) Meade of Owensboro; three grandchildren and the joys of her life: Spencer Meade and Andrew Meade of Calhoun, and Jaxon Meade of Owensboro; brother Don (Sue) Frase of Rochester, NY; sister Lyn Snyder of Archbold, OH; beloved niece Missy Snyder of Marion, IN; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends and church family.

Her passing into eternity came peacefully and she left knowing her Savior was waiting to take her Home. Funeral services will be 2 PM Friday, November 14 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Trevor Beers and Rev. Tim Hall officiating. Burial will be in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens in Lexington on Monday. Visitation will be from 3 PM until 7 PM Thursday and from Noon until the time of the service on Friday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301 or to Wesleyan Christian Center, c/o Kate Meade, Treasurer, 1631 Buck Creek Church Road, Calhoun, KY 42327.
