Mary Martha Stover, 85, of Indian Land, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026. She was born on November 25, 1940, in Beckley, West Virginia.
Mary lived a life defined by faith, service, and devotion to family. She was a dedicated educator who taught school for over 38 years in Raleigh and Greenbrier Counties, West Virginia. Through her patience, wisdom, and steady encouragement, she shaped the lives of countless students, leaving a lasting impact on her community.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. For 50 years, Mary faithfully served First Baptist Church, where she was lovingly responsible for the beautification of the church. Her care and attention ensured that the sanctuary was always welcoming and adorned with grace, reflecting both her devotion and her generous spirit.
Above all, Mary was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her brother, Paul R. Hutchinson Jr.; her sister, Julia Long, and her husband, Joe Long; her sons, Eric Stover and his wife Lynn, and David Stover and Rebekah Stanley Stover; and her four beautiful grandchildren, Mia, Nolan, Finn, and Phoebe. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Services will be held at Calfee Funeral Home in Beckley, West Virginia, on March 14. Visitation will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Mary will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her servant's heart, and the quiet strength with which she lived her life. Her legacy of love, dedication, and service will continue to live on in all who knew her.
