Mary A. Sushinsky, age 81 of Medina, passed away October 6, 2025. She was born in Avoca, Pennsylvania on May 26, 1944, to the late Thaddeus and Mary Catherine (Kasperowicz) Niemiec. Mary retired from the IRS as an administrative assistant with over 40 years of service.

As a young child, Mary was a member of the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary. She loved her family deeply and travelling with the family to Cape Cod for many years. With her husband, David, she enjoyed walking at Buckeye Woods and birdwatching. She especially loved visiting New England during the autumn changes.

Mary is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, David J. Sushinsky; siblings Peter Niemiec and Bernadine "Bernie" Javorek; sisters-in-law Donna Brinkley (Melvin), Mary Ann Sushinsky (David Mertz) and Kathleen Caito (Harry); nieces and nephews Cindy, Lori, Karen (Ray), Christina (Jared), Dan, Dee and Guy (Chloe); numerous cousins; and a lifetime of collected friends and colleagues. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law Lois Niemiec and brother-in-law George Javorek.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-5:00 pm, Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, OH 44256. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am. Monday October 13, 2025, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina, OH 44256. She will be laid to rest at St. Francis' Church Cemetery.

Contributions may be made in her memory to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception at www.nationalshrine.org.
