Mary Suzanne "Suzanne" Wicks, 80, of Fremont, NH, passed away unexpectedly at her home on August 26, 2025, after a brief illness.

Born on February 22, 1945, in Haverhill, MA, Suzanne was the eldest of four children of the late William and Estelle (Turner) Wicks. She grew up in Haverhill, where she was a proud cheerleader and graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1963. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Merrimack College in 1967. That same year, she married Richard Maloof, and together they welcomed twin daughters.

Teaching was Suzanne's true calling. She spent most of her career as a 4th grade teacher, first at St. James Elementary School in Haverhill, then for over 10 years at Ellis School in Fremont. In 1986, she and her husband purchased Rowe's Gas Station, where she worked for several years. Over the course of her life, Suzanne held many roles-teacher, librarian, retail worker, banker, and most recently a friendly face as a bagger at Hannaford. She also served as a substitute teacher in Raymond, Deerfield, and Fremont. No matter the position, Suzanne always worked hard and treated everyone she met with kindness and care.

A resident of Rowe Drive in Fremont for the past 56 years, Suzanne was deeply rooted in her community. She was a devoted communicant of St. Joseph Church in Epping, where she helped run the rosary, assisted with the donut fellowship at parish gatherings, and faithfully participated in the daily prayer list. She was also active with the Haverhill Council on Aging and a proud member of the Herb Society, where she cultivated a passion for learning about the medicinal and therapeutic benefits of herbs.

Suzanne's greatest devotion, however, was to her family. She never missed the chance to make a loved one feel special-bringing cards for every holiday, keeping a tradition of visiting each grandchild on their birthday, and carefully recording each child's height on the wall of her home. She was a fixture at her grandchildren's sporting events, their biggest cheerleader both on and off the field.

She loved reading, seafood dinners, trips to the beach, and annual camping trips with her daughter Sarah. Most recently, Suzanne treasured the family's April vacation to Hawaii, a memory her loved ones will forever hold dear.

In addition to her parents, Suzanne was predeceased by a stillborn daughter, Theresa Maloof, in 1977, and by her brothers, William and Robert Wicks.

She is survived by her daughters, Liz McGovern and her husband Shawn, and Sarah Malette and her companion Patrick Morrison; seven grandchildren, Cameron McGovern and his companion Kayleigh Thistlewood, Collin McGovern, Brady McGovern, Tess McGovern, Briana Malette, Christina Malette, and Jeremy Malette; one great-granddaughter, Raidyn McGovern; her sister, Lucinda Mitchell; sister-in-law, Dot Wicks; as well as one niece and four nephews.

There will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 200 Pleasant St., Epping, NH. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Plaistow, NH.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Suzanne's memory to NH Catholic Charities at https://www.cc-nh.org/.
