MaryAnne Tassiello, 86 of Middleburg, Florida, formerly of Rossville passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
MaryAnne was born Saturday, October 31, 1936 in Jamiaca, New York, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas Felitti and the late Zaida Hurtado Felitti. She graduated from John Adams High School, Ozone Park, NY.
She met Joseph Tassiello at a New Years Eve Party and married in St. Sylvestor's R.C. Church, Brooklyn, on May 23, 1959. They were married for 57 years until Joseph preceded her in death in 2016.
After Marrying, MaryAnne was a full-time homemaker. In 1979, she returned to work as a secretary with Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City. When her 15 year career came to a close in 1994, she continued working elsewhere, on a part-time basis, for a few more years.
MaryAnne was a devoted and loving, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was also devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, always said everything she became and had was because of Him. In her early married years, was a member of the Blue Army and the Workers of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Lindenhurst, NY along with her husband, promoting the events of Garabandal, Spain. A practicing Catholic, MaryAnne in her later years was a Lector at the former St. John Neumann R.C. Church in Greenridge and conducted weekly rosary recitation for Clove Lakes Health and Rehabilitation Nursing Home, Castleton Corners. She loved dancing, Neil Diamond, enjoyed
dining out, traveling, cooking, and loved spending time with her family. She always saw the good in everyone and was always willing to help whenever it was needed.
MaryAnne is survived by her son, John N.Tassiello, and daughter Marcella Long. She was the dear mother in law of Brian Long; Cherished grandmother of 5 grand children and 1 great grand child.
as well as her adored sister, Marcella A. Montalbano.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at St Joseph's Church (Rossville) located at 16 Poplar Ave Staten Island, New York 10309. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday, October 15, 2023, Monday 2pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
In Lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer's Association in MaryAnne's name.
