Mary F. Taylor, 94, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Parkview Homes. Mary, daughter of Carl & Nina (Weir) Eckwert, was born on October 21, 1931, in Davenport, IA.
Mary graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy and attended Marycrest College.
She married Jerome Taylor on June 27, 1953, at St. Paul the Apostle in Davenport, IA.
Mary was employed with School District 195 and also worked part time at State Bank.
She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas, the STAR group, and volunteered in District 145 and FACC food pantry.
Mary is survived by three children, Jean (John) Kocka, Matthew (Jennifer) Taylor, and Annette (Daniel) Leider. She had seven grandchildren, John (Lori)Kocka, Daniel Kocka, Emily (Brett) Taylor, Adam (Giuliana) Taylor, Anthony (Camila) Taylor, Megan (Chris) nee Leider Perry and Sean Leider. She also had five great grandchildren, Alexis, Sydney and Logan Kocka, Preston and Palmer Perry. Mary was a wonderful “Grams” and Gigi.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, August 21, 2012, two infant sons and was the last of her immediate family.
Mary loved cards, Aggravation, reading, traveling, and being with her friends and family.
Funeral mass will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Father Peter Snieg officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of mass. Immediately following funeral services, the family will proceed to Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Davenport, Iowa, where Mary will be laid to rest.
