Mary Christine (Rebasz) Thompson
June 16, 1948 – May 8, 2025
MEXICO, NY - Chris Thompson passed peacefully on Thursday, May 8, 2025; at her home in Mexico, NY.
She was born in Ilion, NY on June 16, 1948, the only child of Dr. Richard and Mrs. Jane Rebasz. She lived much of her life in the Oneida/Sherrill area. Chris was a 1966 graduate of Oneida High School and completed her Nursing Degree at SUNY Morrisville in 1970. She touched countless lives as a Registered Nurse at Oneida City Hospital, The Madison County Public Health service and the VA hospital in Syracuse. Later in life, she worked as both a nurse and counselor at Syracuse Behavioral Health. Chris is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Christopher Thompson, her three children, RJ (Mary) Cavanagh, John (Kimberly) Cavanagh, Megan Cavanagh Ciocca and four beautiful grandchildren, Cameron and Zachary Cavanagh, Jackson Ciocca and Chloe Cavanagh.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at St. Helena's Church at 204 Primo Avenue in Sherrill, NY. Arrangements are in care of Harter Funeral Home, Inc. Mexico, NY.
