Mary Trantham Obituary

Concrete - Mary Ida Mae 'Ida' Trantham, age 82, a longtime Concrete and Washington resident went to be with the lord on Christmas Day December 25, 2022. She was born in Sylva, North Carolina on January 21, 1940, to Benjamin and Estella (Frizzell) Thompson.

Ida was proud to be the Head Cook for Concrete School District and spent over 30 years preparing food and serving love to 'her' students. She was an exceptional seamstress and quilter who enjoyed gifting handmade wedding dresses and quilts to family and friends. On most days you could find her in her backyard amongst her flowers or in her vegetable garden, growing and preserving food, as she always had room for one more at her table. Selfless and giving with a heart of gold, her presence will be dearly missed by so many.

Ida Mae is survived by her daughter, Innavee Hooper; sons, James Trantham (Anna), David Trantham (Anne-Marie); grandchildren, Ashley Anderson (Jon), Michael Trantham, Whitney Snell, Anthony Trantham (Constance), Emilie Obertacz (Mark), Wesley Snell (Shondra); great-grandchildren, Coven Anderson, Avalynn Anderson, Gunner Obertacz, Ariyah Trantham, and two more great grandchildren on the way as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and her two very much loved cats.

She was preceded in death by her husband, O'Dell; son, Ed Trantham; her parents and was the last living sibling in her family.

Ida will be laid to rest with O'dell at Forest Park Cemetery, Concrete, WA.

We will be holding a Celebration of Life for Ida and O'dell Trantham on March 18, 2023, at 3:00pm; join us at the Sedro-Woolley Eagles Club at 1000 Metcalf St., Sedro Woolley, WA. In lieu of flowers please donate to the National Alzheimer's Association. Share your memories of Ida Mae and sign the online guest register at www.lemleychapel.com.
