Mary M. Turpin, 73, of Maryville, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at her residence.
She was born on November 7, 1951, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Harry E. Lucille M. (Troeckler) Meyer. She is survived by her husband Larry "Joe" Turpin, who she married on March 4, 1989, at the Presbyterian Church in Belleville.
Mary earned her bachelor's degree from SIUE. Throughout her career, she worked in the travel industry. After retiring, Mary found pleasure as a member of the Metro Milers running club in Edwardsville, Illinois. While running became one of her favorite passions, Mary most enjoyed spending time with her friends and family-especially her grandchildren. Mary has always been known for her honesty, integrity, and loyalty to the ones she loves.
Along with her husband Joe, she is survived by two sons and two daughters, Cori (Jeremy) Gleason of Joliet, IL, Ben Turpin of Harrisburg, PA, Sarah (Stephen) Milford of League City, TX, and Jason (Liz) Turpin of St. Louis, MO; three siblings, Linda Klette of Bourbonnais, IL, Ann Lucille Moore of Dorsey, IL, and David (Joanie) Meyer of St. Louis, MO; and five grandchildren, Tristan, Tyler, Landen, Wib, and Ava.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John C. Meyer.
A private graveside service will be held at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.
Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto is assisting the family with final arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
