Dateline: Kansas City, Missouri
Karen Kay Gueldener, 82, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
She was born in Bunker Hill, IL, on October 8, 1943, the daughter of Carl and Melva (Seeger) Schreiber. Karen married Arthur E. Gueldener on July 20, 1963 at St. John's UCC in Midway. He preceded her in death.
Karen enjoyed many hobbies, including sewing, playing cards, hosting parties, dancing, and taking road trips. She loved all animals. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandy (Warren Austin) Phelps of Holden, MO; siblings, Richard (Debbie) Schrieber of Dorchester, Norman (Barb) Schreiber of Worden, and Pearl Henke of Worden; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Schreiber of Prairietown; and two grandchildren, Becky (Butch) Vanderpool, and Garrett (Trent) O'Mara.
Along with her parents, and husband, Arthur, she was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Schreiber; and a brother-in-law, Al Henke.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 9:30 am until time of service at 11 am, at St. John's UCC in Midway. Pastor Lori Schafer will officiate. Burial will follow at St. John's UCC Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to St. John's UCC in Midway.
