Mary Alice Vasquez, 69, of Galveston, Texas passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 25, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on February 10, 1956, Mary lived a full and vibrant life filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred Vasquez, her parents, Toribio Serenil and Mary Lucy Velasquez-Serenil; her brother Manuel Serenil, her sister Irma “Nini” Villanueva; her grandson Xavier Vasquez Jr (lil Daddy)

She is survived by her children, daughter Veronica Vasquez spouse Chris Ivey, son Christopher Vasquez spouse Angela Vasquez, son Xavier Vasquez spouse Misty Ortiz, stepdaughter Elizabeth Vasquez. Her Siblings: sisters Diamantina Mata, Dorie Ortiz, Lolly Ortega spouse Daniel and Kathleen Serenil, brother Eloy Serenil spouse Daniel. Immediate grandchildren are Therapon Alpentzon Jr, Devin Ivey, Drake Vasquez, Angel Ivey, Rey Munoz, Joshua Ivey, Chase Ivey, King Vasquez, Damian Vasquez, Arabella Vasquez followed by many more grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will forever cherish her memory and feel her loving presence watching over them from heaven.

Before her valiant battle with cancer, Mary was known for her lively personality and infectious joy. Through every challenge, she found a way to keep a smile on everyone’s face. She was the life of every party quick to laugh ready to dance and always determined to lift the spirits of those around her. Mary’s greatest joy was found in her kitchen, and then the laughter of her grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart.

Family meant everything to Mary, her strength, humor, warmth along with unmistakable yell whenever someone wasn’t listening left a lasting impression on everyone, she met just that she would have wanted, though she will be deeply missed. Her light will continue to shine Brightly in the hearts of all who loved her.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., 5100 Emmett F. Lowry Expressway, in Texas City, 77591

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday evening at the funeral home, followed by a Rosary starting at 6:30 p.m.
