Mary Vickerson Obituary
COLONIE - October 25, 1939 - April 1, 2025
Mary "Faith" Faith Vickerson, 85, long-time resident of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
Faith was the beloved wife of the late Thomas J. (Tom) Vickerson; loving mother of Patrick (Carolyn) Concannon of Buffalo, Erin (John) Concannon-Fink, D.O., of Oil City, Pa., and Kelly Concannon-Jarvi of Syracuse. Faith was also the loving stepmother of Thomas Jr. (Amanda) Vickerson of Ballston Lake, Timothy (Lisa) Vickerson of Brunswick, Eric (Karen) Vickerson and Deborah (Tony) Harris, both of Niskayuna.
She was born in Rome, N.Y., to Dr. Donald and Grace Amidon. She was predeceased by her four brothers, Donald Amidon, Joel Amidon, D.O., Robert Amidon, D.O., and Kevin Amidon. Faith graduated from Holy Names Academy in Rome and studied at LeMoyne College. Faith was employed by Sears and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, retiring after 20+ years of service. And it was at "EnCon" that Faith met and fell in love with her husband, Tom.
Faith was most proud of all of her 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, whom she adored and loved to spend time with. Their many far-flung events were attended enthusiastically and without fail, and she loved sharing news of their accomplishments with everyone.
After retiring, Faith and Tom spent their summers in Sebago, Maine, enjoying the lakefront and deck, entertaining friends and family alike. Faith was also very close to her Colonie neighbors (the "Nicholettes"), all of whom she had a special bond of friendship with. And with her passing, Faith is smiling and sharing stories with her best friend of many decades, the late Joyce Daley.
Calling hours for Faith will take place at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., on Thursday, April 10, with a prayer service to be held Friday, April 11, at 11 a.m. She will be interred privately at a later date at the Saratoga National Cemetery, thus reuniting with her late-husband, Tom.
