Mrs. Mary Frances "Fran" Crooke Waddell, age 88, of Ellijay, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025 at her residence. Fran was born October 29th, 1937 in Cartersville, Georgia to the late "Homer" Charlie and Nancy "Obilee" Wilson Crooke. She was a 1955 graduate of Gilmer High School, was of the Christian faith, and a long time member of the Ellijay Lions Club. She was a dedicated wife and mother. She worked alongside her husband at Waddell Printing for many years. Fran is preceded in death by her husband John T. Waddell.
Survivors include daughter Mary Elizabeth Waddell of Tunnel Hill; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Lisa Waddell of Ellijay; daughter and son-in-law Christa and David McArthur of Ellijay; grandchildren and spouses Stephen, Joshua (Kaylee), and Sarah Elizabeth Aaron, Matthew Waddell, Rachel (Sondre) Olsen, Caleb (Rachel) Waddell, Anna Waddell, Samuel (Aubrey) McArthur; great-grandchild Mikael Anthony Olsen; brother in law, Roy Waddell of Ellijay, GA; Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, November 11th, 2025 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chad Kelly officiating and grandson Joshua Aaron delivering the eulogy. Special music and singing will be by Inez Jones and Anna Waddell. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery with Stephen Aaron, Joshua Aaron, Matthew Waddell, Samuel McArthur, Caleb Waddell, and Sondre Olsen serving as pallbearers.
Family will receive friends from 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Monday, November 10th, 2025, at the Logan Funeral Home.
Food and flowers are being accepted or donations can be made to the Oak Hill Cemetery Association, Inc., in care of Steve Ellington, 251 Quail Run Court, Talking Rock, Georgia 30175, in memory of Mrs. Waddell.
