Mary Wall Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Spencer Funeral Home - East Hampton on Mar. 3, 2026.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Lucille Clark Wall, 94, of East Hampton, who went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 2, 2026. Mary Lu was the beloved wife of the late Richard F. Wall Sr., former co owner of Wall's Dairy Farm and Restaurant in East Hampton. Born and raised in the Westchester section of Colchester, Mary Lu graduated from Bacon Academy in 1949 and later from Mitchell College in New London in 1951. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper in her father's business, the Fred B. Clark Lumber Co., and later served as a substitute secretary in the East Hampton school system. Mary Lu and Dick enjoyed many happy years together at their vacation homes, first in Vermont, where they spent countless days on the ski slopes, and later in Rhode Island, where they embraced life at the beach. They eventually took to traveling in their campers before settling into an RV park in Westerly, Rhode Island, where they summered for many years. A devoted and faithful member of St. Patrick Church, Mary Lu served as a Eucharistic Minister and joyfully used her God-given gifts to decorate the altar, a service that gave her both great pleasure and fulfillment. She was a longtime member of the St. Patrick Guild, once serving as its president, and was a co-founder of the former Cornerstone Prayer Group. Mary Lu also served as Manager of "The Shepherd Shop" in Westchester for "My Father's House" of Moodus and was a former member of the East Hampton Art Association. Mary Lu was predeceased by her husband Richard, her three sisters, Dorothy Johnson, Evelyn Turner, and Margaret Clark, her two brothers Fred Clark and Everett Clark, her daughter in law Judy Wall, and her beloved granddaughter Jennifer Wall. She leaves behind her four sons: Richard Jr. of East Hampton, his daughter Laura and her husband Adam; Ronald and his wife Barbara of Colchester; Russell of Hebron, his daughter Kathryn, her husband Yuri and their daughter Charlotte, his sons Jason and Marq; Randall and his wife Jennifer of East Hampton, their daughter Madison, and his step daughter Samantha.

Friends may call at the Spencer Funeral Home 112 Main St. East Hampton on Thursday March 5th from 9:00AM until 10:30AM. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00AM in St. John Paul II Parish Church of St. Patrick 47 W. High St. East Hampton. Burial will be in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: St. Patrick Church, P.O. Box 177, East Hampton, CT 06424, for use of the Alter Decorations Committee.
