LANCASTER – Mary Jo Wepking, age 88 of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Edenbrook in Platteville surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 1, 1936, the daughter of Gladys Budd. Mary Jo graduated from Fennimore High School in 1954. She married LeRoy Wepking on October 8, 1960, at the Wepking home in Milton Wisconsin. Mary Jo was employed at Cuna Mutual Insurance Company, Southwest Technical College, Dick’s Supermarket, Piggly Wiggly, in Lancaster and Platteville, Walmart, in Prairie Du Chien and Platteville, and Loudspeaker Components. She volunteered at the Grant County Thrift Store, Lancaster Meal Site and drove for the Mennonite community. Mary Jo enjoyed visiting with friends at the Coffee Tree, and dearly loved spending time with her family.
Surviving is her children: Eric (Karen) Wepking, Brian (Michelle) Wepking and Becky (Brian) Sitts; eight grandchildren: Brett (Aly) Wepking, Ryan (Tara) Wepking, Nick Wepking, Nathan (Cheyenne) Wepking, Natalie Wepking, Kylee Sitts, Breanna and Kiarra Zeinert; 11 great grandchildren and one on the way; a sister-in-law; Linda Budd and her daughters: Tammie and Marie, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Gladys; a sister in infancy: Beverly; and two brothers: David and Roland Budd.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Cemetery in Fennimore. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
