Mary Signe Westmoreland

Oak Ridge- Mary Signe Westmoreland, age 81, passed away on November 13, 2025 at West Hills nursing home.
She was a long time member of Central Baptist Church of Oak Ridge.
Signe worked as a teacher and aide at Oak Ridge High School until her retirement in 2006. She was best known for her hobby professions of tutoring math students and decorating cakes. She was affectionately known as 'the cake lady' and was the artist behind hundreds of the most decadent and beautiful cakes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Maddox Holstrom, and by her sister, Deena, all of Bowling Green, KY.
Signe is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard DeeFarrest Westmoreland, Jr. and by her children; son, Derek Westmoreland of Deer Park, TX and daughter, Noelle White (Stanley) of Garner, NC. She has a brother, Rick Holstrom, who resides in Bowling Green, KY. She also has 5 grandchildren- William, Jacob and Kathryn Westmoreland, along with Lucas and Signe White, all of whom she adored.
The family would like to thank the staff and respiratory therapy team of West Hills nursing home who have taken wonderful care of her over the past months.

The service will be a Weatherford Mortuary on Friday November 21st at 2:00pm. Preceding the service, there will be receiving of friends at 1pm. A burial at Oak Ridge Memorial Park following.
