Publish in a newspaper

Mary Broach Winsley, 84, of Douglasville, GA passed away on August 20, 2025. She was born on September 1, 1940, the daughter of the late Angus Duncan McFarlane and the late Beulah Broach Eckford McFarlane of Natchez, MS, and the former wife of George Murray Winsley.
Broach graduated Natchez High School in May 1958 and from Delta State University in May 1961. She taught high school math in Meridian, MS, until she joined the United States Navy and served honorably for four years.
After her military service, Broach and George lived in Hawaii where they raised two children. She had different jobs, but found her passion as a computer programmer. She successfully owned and managed her own software company for over 15 years.
Beyond her professional achievements, Broach was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, where she contributed to her community and found joy in fellowship. Her warmth and kindness endeared her to those around her, earning her the affectionate title of "everyone's grandmother."
Broach was also a cherished member of the Cherokee Rose Quilt Group, where she shared her skills and passion for sewing. She took special delight in teaching children the art of sewing, instilling in them a sense of creativity and craftsmanship that transcended generations.
As we reflect on Broach's life, we remember her as a remarkable teacher, a devoted community member, and a beloved figure in the lives of her friends and family. Her spirit and contributions will forever resonate within the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Broach leaves behind a legacy of love, education, and community service that will be profoundly missed.
She is survived by her former husband, George Winsley; daughter, Erin Wynn of UT; son, Jon David Winsley of CA; brothers, James McFarlane and Duncan McFarlane; four grandchildren, Jackson Wynn, Cooper Wynn, Madeline Winsley, and Aiden Winsley; one great-grandchild, Naomi Winsley; and nieces and nephews, Meade McFarlane, Bryan McFarlane, Adam McFarlane, Jill Hendrix, Sally McFarlane, and Emily Geisen.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel.
In accordance with Broach's wishes she was cremated; her Memorial services will be conducted on September 6, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel.
