Mary Louise (Miloro) Wright, 96 years old, was called home to Heaven on April 11, 2024 with her daughter Linda at her bedside at Gulf Coast Nursing Center in Cape Coral, FL. Born on March 22, 1928 at home in St. Louis, MO. She was the oldest of four children born to Joseph, Sr. and Madeline (nee Danible) Miloro.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Linda (Stephen) Novakovich – Cape Coral, FL; granddaughter: Lauren Mary Novakovich – Joplin, MO; brother: Edward Miloro – Rolla, MO; sister: Gloria (Gary) Bickel – De Soto, MO; and sister-in-law: Dorothy Miloro – Jefferson City, MO; several nieces, nephews, and their families.
Mary worked at the De Soto Shoe Factory for several years and Oakes 5 & 10 Store on De Soto Main Street for 18 years. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Daughters of Isabella, and St. Vincent de Paul in De Soto. She loved to attend family gatherings, read, crochet, talk on the phone, sew – including clothes, & costumes for Linda and Lauren, dresses for bridal parties, curtains and other household decorations, rarely taking time for herself personally but always there to serve others' needs.
Mary never sought the spotlight but was a shining star with her vibrant personality, beautiful smile, unselfish, warm & loving ways. Her friendly outgoing Italian heritage made her a real people person who made friends easily and became a beacon of hope to everyone she met. She will be remembered fondly by all she touched with her kindness and joy. Mary was proud of her heritage; Joseph Miloro, Sr. traveled from Northern Italy at age 14 with his brother through Ellis Island to become a US citizen and start his own business in the U.S. also helping family members to follow his footsteps. Mary had her share of problems but not one to ask others for help, her serving focus was always on being there for others trying to lessen their burden be it baling hay on the farm, serving or cleaning up after meals, babysitting for family and friends, volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul, calling & visiting the sick or home bound, or just being a friend when a friend was needed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence Harold "Banjo" Wright; and one brother, Joseph Miloro, Jr.
As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul 326 S. 2nd St., De Soto, MO. Photo Slideshow
