Town of Ulster - Mary Jean Yates, 87, died Saturday November 22, 2025 at her sons home in Tillson.
Mary was born in Astoria Queens January 9, 1938 a daughter of Frank and Jean Ruf. She spent most of her life in Brooklyn NY, and worked at Domino Sugar for many years in Manhattan. Later in life, she and her husband Ronald then moved upstate where she worked in the cafeteria at Marbletown Elementary school and retired from there. They had spent many years upstate at their cabin before moving upstate permanently.
Mary was an avid BINGO player and loved to gamble as well as dining out, traveling and enjoying time with her family. She also loved her "grandma's night" with all the girls.
Her husband, Ronald Yates, died November 3, 2018. She is survived by her sons Edward and Michael Bradfield, their wives Carol & Kristine. 4 beautiful grandchildren Jennifer Bradfield and her significant other Seth Harris. Danielle Mason and husband Phillip Mason; Ethan and Emma Bradfield. 3 great grandchildren; Adreenah, Antonio and Dominick Mason.

She will be truly missed, but lived a wonderful 87 years of life, now at rest with her husband.
A Celebration of her Life will be held Tuesday November 25 from 3 to 6 PM at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. (www.GJMoylanFuneralHome.com) At 6 PM Rev. Arlene Dawber will lead the ceremony. Cremation will be held privately. Mary Jean's family would appreciate memorial donations to Hudson Valley Hospice. www.hvhospice.org
