New Paltz - Harold W. (Hal) Moore, 58, died November 17, 2025 at his home with his family by his side. Hal was born in Cornwall, New York to Shirley Moore (Guidie) and Wildey Moore on August 10, 1967.
Hal graduated from Cornwall High School in 1985. After high school, he went to Riverside School of Aeronautics where he became a certified Airframe and Powerplant mechanic.

Hal married Elizabeth Moak on May 10, 1997. They loved traveling together and went on many adventures to see all the beauty and wonders our country had to offer. They visited many national parks, airplane and space museums, and aquariums. He often went skydiving on these trips throughout the country. Some of his more exciting adventures included skydiving from a hot air balloon, many helicopters and a B17 Bomber. They enjoyed going to the Outer Banks every spring for many years to see the wild horses and enjoy nature.

Hal successfully ran his own business, Moore Electronics, for over 25 years. He enjoyed his job and making people happy. If you had a remote start installed for your vehicle in Ulster County, chances were that he was the person who installed it. He worked on automobile electronics for many police departments, Central Hudson and auto dealers. He loved installing all things electronics in automotives as well as homes through the years.

Hal was predeceased by his parents. Hal is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Elizabeth Moore (Moak), his brother Frank Moore of Lake George, a sister Tina Moore of Lake George, a sister Cathy Moore of Queensbury, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Hal will be especially remembered for his adventurous spirit and upbeat personality that lifted all those around him. He will be forever loved and missed by all that knew him. He is forever in our hearts and never forgotten. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Alliance Defending Freedom, 15100 N. 90th Street, Scottsdale, AZ 85260, 1-800-835-5233. A Celebration of Life will be held privately.
