Stone Ridge - Geoffrey J. Watson of Stone Ridge, died on Monday, January 26, 2026, at his home. He was born March 9, 1947, in Balikpapan on the island of Borneo, Indonesia, a son of the late William C. Watson and Irma Lenz, and was preceded in death by his wife, Danielle and brother, Leslie Watson. A longtime resident of Stone Ridge, Geoffrey worked as a chef in NYC before becoming the owner of the Calico Restaurant in Stone Ridge.

A man of many talents and a vibrant spirit, Geoffrey found great joy in singing and listening to music. His passion for the culinary arts extended well beyond his professional life; he took immense pride in cooking amazing food for those he cared about. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his loving family, who were the center of his world.

Geoffrey is survived by a daughter, Brigitte Joyce and her husband Jason of Accord; two sons, Nick Prestreau and his wife Kerri of Delray Beach, Florida, and John Watson and his wife Yetzia Bakle Aponte of Portland, Oregon; and five grandchildren, Nicholas, Michael, and Brian Prestreau, and Logan and Devon Joyce. He is also survived by his two brothers, Raoul Watson and his wife Dee Dee of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Jack Wilson and his wife Inge of the Netherlands, and his sister, Meity Watson of the Netherlands; as well as several nieces, nephews, and family members in the USA, Netherlands, and Indonesia.

Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, February 2, from 4:00 to 6:30 PM at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. Rev. Arlene Dawber will officiate his funeral service at 6:30 PM following the visitation. Cremation will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Marbletown First Aid Unit, PO Box 323, High Falls, NY 12440. (www.GJMoylanFuneralHome.com)
