Douglas Kreck

Cottekill - Douglas Kreck, 56, of Cottekill passed away Saturday February 21, 2026 in his home surrounded by family. He was born August 18, 1969 in Queens NYC and has been a long time resident of the area since 1986. He was a dedicated, self employed, State and NICET Certified Fire Alarm Technician, working primarily for some of the major NYC hospitals. He had a deep passion and brilliance for troubleshooting, creating, designing, and building just about anything, with a special love for electronics and automobiles. He and his family shared a common love for beagles, with an honorable mention for his buddies Thumper and Max.
He is survived by his wife Barbara J. Kreck, daughter Jessica N. Kreck and her boyfriend Brenden G. Moylan, and only brother Erik (Jack ) Pauwels of Hendersonville, NC. Funeral services will be casual attire and held at 11 AM Wednesday February 25th at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc, 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. Interment will follow at Rosendale Plains Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to the Beagle Freedom Project at info@bfp.org
