William "Bill" Hines

Rosendale, NY - William "Bill" J. Hines passed away peacefully on January 29th,
2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Manhattan, NYC on November 5,
1939. Bill was the son of William J Hines and Catherine Pini.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Marlene; daughter Lynn Sukeforth, her husband
Paul, and her daughter Kelsey Adams (Michael); son David Hines, his wife Kelly, and
their daughter Kendall Hines; son David Hines Jr (Kayla) and his great
granddaughters Paisley and Olivia. He is also survived by his nieces Meghan Votra
(Marvin), Liz Hines, Lara S. Daly (Andy), his nephew Aaron Hines and extended family
members who loved him dearly.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Eugene "Gene" Hines.
He graduated from William Bryant High School in 1958. He enlisted in the Air Force and
served our country from December 1959 to April 1972, were he was a maintenance
worker on analog instrument panels on aircraft and flight scheduler. He worked as a
sheet medal mechanic at Rondout Manufacturing in High Falls NY from 1979 to
retirement in 2005. Bill and Marlene were married on April 19 th , 1987. He was an avid
Harley Davidson lover and loved to ride and travel, and spend time with his friends,
especially down at Stewart's.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at
the George J. Moylan Funeral Home, 2053 NY-32, Rosendale, New York
In place of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to a cancer-related
cause of your choice or the American Legion in Bill Hines' name.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Albany Stratton
VA Medical Center for their compassionate care and their exceptional support in making
Bill comfortable in his final days.
