WORCESTER-Maryann (Fontaine) Brackett, 91, of Worcester passed away Wednesday, August 21 in her home, surrounded by her family.

She leaves five children, Robert Brackett and his partner, Azleen Shays of Auburn, Steven Brackett of Worcester, Donna Brackett of Worcester, Darlene Olson of Leicester and Patricia Hildreth and her husband, Gary of Springfield; three sisters, Gertrude D’Olimpio, Theresa Sullivan and Cecile Sykes and her husband, Gerald all of Worcester; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Three children, David Bracket, Deborah St. Germain, Louis Brackett, Jr., a brother, John Fontaine and a son-in-law, Robert Olson predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, Albert A. and Mary R. (David) Fontaine.

Maryann was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Church. She was lovingly referred to as Ma’ by those closest to her and if you got her to smile, it would light up the room. She loved music and played it loud for all to hear. Especially classic country music and songs that she could dance to. She also loved company, watching football and keeping traditions at her home like Thanksgiving and Christmas. Ma’ took pride in her decorations and furniture, often upgrading her décor. Ma’ had a great sense of humor and a laugh that we will truly miss.

Visiting Hours are Thursday, August 29, from 4 to 7pm in Callahan Fay Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, August 30 at 11am in Saint Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street.
