To everything there is a season,

and a time to every purpose under the Heaven;

A time to be born, and a time to die;

A time to break down, and a time to build up;

A time to weep, and a time to laugh;

A time to mourn, and a time to dance;

Ecclesiastes 3

Mason David Childers, 21, Fall Branch, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025, in Morristown as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. His passing was unexpected, and he has left us far too soon. Mason had such a big heart and never left without sharing a smile. He truly loved bringing laughter to others, and lived each day to the fullest with a vibrant spirit. Most importantly, we take comfort in knowing he is now in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Mason will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. Mason attended Fall Branch Elementary then Daniel Boone High School, where he was a 2022 graduate.

He was employed as a Sales Rep with Gold Spectrum CBD.

Mason loved life, he loved his friends, and he enjoyed sports of all kinds, including basketball, swimming, snowboarding, and especially his most recent interest, golf.

Mason often attended Grace Freewill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Carl Childers, maternal great-grandmother, Alice Sisk ("GiGi"), and his paternal great-grandparents, Guy and Ila Foster.

Mason is survived by his mother and dad, Missy and Kevin Compton, Fall Branch; father, Ben Childers, Johnson City; two brothers, Logan Foster Childers and wife Juliana Van, California, Ty Franzus and Reyanna, Fall Branch, one sister, Abbie Compton, Florida; paternal grandparents, David and Cindy Foster, Johnson City; maternal grandmother, Jane Childers, Johnson City; grandmother, Linda Compton, Fall Branch; uncle, Brian Foster and wife Melissa, Knoxville; two aunts, Angie Tallent and husband Mark, Julia Rutherford and husband Mike, all of Johnson City; one niece, Emorie Franzus, Fall Branch; one nephew, Salem Franzus, Fall Branch; three cousins, Brody Foster, Knoxville, Ann Catherine, and Meredith Tallent, Johnson City.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M., in the Sanctuary of Grace Freewill Baptist Church.

The funeral service celebrating Mason's life will follow once the receiving of friends concludes, with his grandfather, Pastor David Foster, and great-uncle, Pastor Dan Foster, officiating.

Graveside committal service will be held Friday at 12:00 P.M. in Roselawn Memory Gardens, with Pastor Curtis Hurt, officiating, and special music being provided by Amy Foster Duncan, soloist. Pallbearers will be Logan Childers, Brady Stump, Ty Franzus, Cade Sheffield, Henry Sells, and Dakari Dixon. Those planning to attend are requested to meet at the funeral home by 11:30 A.M. to proceed to the cemetery.
