Rev. Michael W. Childers, 73, of North Little Rock, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, September 26, 2025.
Born on September 19, 1952, in Little Rock, Michael dedicated his life to faith, family, and service. He worked as a printer by trade but was best known for his calling in ministry. He was ordained by the Bible Doctrine Church of Little Rock and faithfully served as a prison minister, nursing home chaplain, and fire department chaplain. His generosity extended beyond words—he gave of himself through more than 600 blood donations to the American Red Cross.
He was welcomed into Heaven by countless brothers and sisters in Christ who have gone before him.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents: Kathleen Blake Childers and Robert Childers; and a brother, Robert Childers. He is survived by his sons Kenny, Ricky, and Dylan; his beloved dog, Ella; grandchildren Colton, Harper, Michael, Myron, and Macon; as well as his brother, Gary Childers of Maumelle, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Michael’s final days were filled with joy, surrounded by family, friends, and his faithful companion, Ella. He would not want us to grieve deeply, but instead to celebrate his “promotion,” as he often said—reminding us this is not goodbye, but “see you later.”
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Please check back for dates and times.
