Smith Family Funeral Homes - North Little RockBarbara Ann (Parrish) Shirley passed away on September 22, 2025. She was born on July 13, 1935 in Russellville, AR to Paul E. and Edna M. Parrish. Barbara married Jimmie C. Shirley of North Little Rock on November 11, 1956 and they enjoyed 62 years of marriage together. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two sisters, Sue Hultsman and Paula Derrick.
Barbara is survived by her children: Suzanne Theis (John) of Sherwood and Phil Shirley of White House, TN. In addition to her children, Barbara leaves three granddaughters: Lauren Sullivan (Dustin) of Jonesboro, AR, Hannah Lee (Tyler) of San Jose, CA, and Kelsi Shirley of White House, TN and five great grandchildren: Kyleigh, Amelia, and Oliver Sullivan and Samuel and Alice Lee.
Barbara joined First Baptist Church of Sherwood in 1968 and served for many years in various capacities including working with the youth group for many years, singing in the choir, teaching various classes, and delivering meals to church members who were shut-ins. Her last three years of life were spent at Willow Grove Assisted Living Facility. Her family would like to thank the staff of Willow Grove for the care they provided to Barbara during her final years.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 6, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Sherwood. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
