Master Lee Davis, 79, of Battle Creek, Michigan died Monday, January 26, 2026, at Marshall Nursing & Rehabilitation.
Master Lee Davis was born September 10, 1946, in Itta Bena, Mississippi. He was the seventh of nine children born to the union of Mary Billups and Robert Davis, Sr.
Master Lee relocated to Battle Creek in November 1953. He attended Wilson and Ann J. Kellogg Elementary Schools, Northwestern Junior High School and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School. After graduating, Lee joined the U.S. Army and spent two years in Germany and Fort Knox, Kentucky, while serving in the military as a male nurse.
Upon returning home from the military, Master Lee attended Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan. He was also employed at the Battle Creek Veterans Affairs Medical Center as a nurse.
Master Lee met and married Rose Irene “Rosie” Lynn of Battle Creek and to this union two sons were born, Troy and Quincy Davis.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Thomas and Robert Davis, Sr.; grandparents, Jimmy and Estelle Billups; sisters, Frankie Davis, Ruby Carson, Pearlie Williams and Hattie Pate; brothers, Sammie Deal, Willi C. Davis and a nephew, Sammie Davis, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Rose Lynn “Rosie” Davis; two sons, Troy and Quincy Davis both of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Tyree Davis, Leilani-Azelia Razil Davis-Rindflisch and Quincy Tyree Davis, II; a brother, Robert Davis, Jr. of Powder Springs, GA; sister, Joyce Davis-Bray (Herbert) of New Orleans, LA; nieces, Lavita Williams, Mary Farve, Samantha Farve and Jeannell Lewis of New Orleans, LA, Barbara Ann Robinson, Tauessa Davis and Pearlie Pate of Baton Rouge, LA, Robbie, Bridge and Frankie Carson of Minneapolis, Mechelle Gatlin of Las Vegas, NV; nephews, Tommie Davis of Columbus, MS, Ronald Boles of St. Louis, MO, Denzel Johnson of Minneapolis, MN, Dennis Pate, Joshua Davis, Corey Levy and Richard Hines of New Orleans, Darvelle Levy of Virginia Beach, VA, Robert and Michael Davis of Battle Creek, MI, and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Master Lee was an artist and musician and enjoyed his Bible study group. He was charismatic and loved being around people. Master Lee Davis will be remembered for his kindness and generosity. Master Lee was blessed to be loved by many!!! May he rest in perfect peace in the arms of the Almighty Forever.
