Obituary of Mateo Moreno
Mateo Moreno, 87, of Freehold Township passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at his residence. He was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas and had lived in Nebraska, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Monroe and East Brunswick before settling in Freehold in 1993. He was a talented artist who brought beauty and joy to the world through his incredible creations. Mateo's life was filled with many highlights, including his annual trips to Cape Cod with his family and his service in the United States Airforce. He was a dedicated member of the New Jersey Button Society, where he shared his passion for creating artistic buttons.
Mateo is predeceased by his parents, Mateo and Consuelo Moreno. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Moreno of Freehold; two sons, David Moreno of Freehold and Jason Moreno of Freehold; sister, Yolanda Wilson; many nieces and nephews and his dedicated caregiver, Samson.
All arrangements are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mateo's memory may be made to NJ American Parkinson Disease Association Chapter, P. O. Box 214, Elizabeth, NJ 07207.
