Well what can i say this is a sad event in life that should never happen matt was 1 of my best friends in high school i move away and didint really keep in contact with him over the years when i heard the news i was shock i think i am in denile i dont think it hit me yet
i think i am gonna dwell on this for a while i wish i would have saw him 1 last time b4 it happen my heart goes out to the Amundsen family and my great friend Andy Amundsen know that your brother will never be forgotten i will never forget him

I remember the first time we met, you started playing with my hair and you said how nice my hair was.. lol and then i remember the last time, we had a great night. it doesn't seem so real and your going to be missed incredibly! I just remember hanging out at cynthias house and all of us kids running around all crazy. It seems like so long ago. Im sure matthew had grown into such a young iteligant man. It is so tragic that his life had to end at such a young age. Im sure grandpa glen will take good care of him and he will be watching over all of you at all times! Matt, i miss you more and more as the days go by. Its only been 4 days now. You were the best a cousin could ask for. Always there to back up the Amundsen clan. I love you matt and I know you are having a great time up there.

I am so sorry to hear about Matt's tragic and untimely death. My son, Greg Gonsior, was a friend of Matt's at Immaculate and even though I have not seen Matt for a long time I still smile when I think about him! What a wonderful, fun loving young boy he was! In reading the tributes from those who knew him as a young adult it seems he was able to hold onto his joy of living.

Matt was one of my newest friends. I only had the great pleasure of meeting him at work over the past few months. He was always pleasant, sincere and helpful. There was a lively awareness about him; he was often amused, and likely to share whatever it was he was finding amusing in that moment. He was one of those people who made it great to be at work! I was in a total shock when I heard the news about Matt. I couldn't believe it. I haven't seen Matt since 8th grade at Immaculate. From what I can remember he always made me laugh, always cracking jokes in class. I could easily call him the class clown! He was a great guy and I'm glad that I got to know him the 9 years I was in school with him. I was glad to speak with him a couple months back. I will miss him greatly. I really truly have no words. I feel completely helpless, hopeless and devastated for your loss yet I believe in having hope in a hopeless time and in seeing the light when nothing seems bright. I can't explain the connection our family had with yours and Matt and my friendship. We didn't need to see each other often, didn't need to talk every month, but we were connected through our histories and more importantly our older brothers. I always saw something in him and he always saw something in me that we valued and loved and were never afraid to express to each other. Dear Mr. and Mrs. Amundsen, Eric and Andy - My son Joseph and Matt were the best of friends. Even after Joe moved to Maryland, Matt and Joe talked constantly. They talked on Friday while Joe and I were driving to have lunch together. They talked about the weather - how warm it was here in Maryland and that it was still cold in Minnesota. They talked about motorcycles and Matt's plans to go back to school. I met Matt only a few times when I was in Minnesota to visit Joe. I am heartbroken for your loss. I am heartbroken for Joe's loss.
