Matilda Gillikin Davis Obituary
Matilda Mae Gillikin Davis, 85, of Otway, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Otway Christian Church. Burial will follow at Carteret Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Otway Christian Church.
Matilda was a lifelong member of Otway Christian Church and often said she was going to church there before she was born. She always had a smile and a hug for everyone she knew and met.
She is survived by two sons, Johnnie Davis Jr. (Michele), and Donnie Davis Sr. (Debra), all of Otway; two grandchildren, Paul Davis of Otway and Sheldon Daugherty (fiancée Kelsey Waterfield) of Buxton; four step-grandchildren and ten step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Berton Davis Sr., her parents Alvie Paul and Lida Francis Gillikin; and brothers Bobby Gray Gillikin and Berkley Ray Gillikin Sr.
Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to Otway Christian Church, 242 Gillikin Road, Beaufort, NC, 28516
