Rochester: Hilda died peacefully on October 20, 2025 at the age of 93 years old. Hilda was born in Garvagh, Northern Ireland on September 10, 1932. She immigrated to the United States in 1952 and made Rochester, NY her home. She is predeceased by her parents Robert and Maude Conway, her husband, Andy McLeod and dear friend, Jerry Reger.
Hilda is survived by her sister, Elizabeth (Beth) Larson of N Ireland; nephew, Shawn & (Charlotte) Larson of England and cousin, Martha Bailey of DE; dear friends Kathy and Phil Walter, Joyce Root and Marilyn DeVisser.
Sadly, Hilda was a victim of a crime committed by her in home aide who plead guilty to grand larceny for stealing thousands of dollars. We would like to express our thanks to the MCSO Economics Crime Unit and the Monroe County District's Attorney's office for pursuing justice for Hilda. A special thank you to WHEC investigative reporter, Berkeley Brean, for promoting community awareness on the subject of elder abuse.
Our appreciation to the Jewish Home Cottage 2 Unit 3 staff for the care provided to Hilda these past 2 years. Our gratitude to the Rochester Regional Hospice team (Ellen Herring )and (Jennifer Hennigan) for the exceptional compassionate care Hilda received these last months.
