Matt Bruce Wingert, age 41, of Fountain, MN, died at his family farm on Monday, September 9, 2024.
Matt was born October 29, 1982, the son of Bruce and Tracy (Garden) Wingert. After high school, he did a harvest run in the southern states. Eventually Matt returned to his family farm and dedicated his life to dairy farming. He enjoyed traveling, snowmobiling, and horseback riding. He was also known for enjoying an Old Milwaukee and Copenhagen. He was united in marriage to April Strain in 2021. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, and father.
He is survived by his wife, April Wingert of Fountain, MN, and her daughter Lindsea; siblings: Jim (Randi) of Harmony, MN, and Loni of Fountain; nieces and nephews: Coltin (Kathryn), Morgan (Ian) Vander Wal, Claytin, Mady, Maggie, Melony, and Martina; aunts and uncles: Jerry (Shirley) Wingert of Preston, Nancy Hartley of Dorchester, IA, Bill (Janeen) Wingert of Preston, Louise (Joe) Marquardt of Spring Valley, MN, and Jamie (Mike) Reicherts of Floyd, IA, and Chris (Lisa) Garden of Charles City, IA, and their families; and numerous close friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, uncle, Tom Hartley, cousin, Connie Hartley, and good friend, Adam Ortner.
A funeral service will be held Monday, September 16, 2024 at 11am at Preston United Methodist Church with Rev. Deanna Woodward officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 2-4pm at Hoff Funeral Home in Chatfield, and will continue one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be at the Fountain Lutheran Cemetery.
