Matthew's funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Maranatha Baptist Church, 2800 N Divis Ave. Bethany, OK 73008.
Matthew Layton Bartlett was born May 26, 1970, in Louisville, KY, and died on February 1, 2024. Matthew, had an adventurous spirit and enriched the lives of those around him immeasurably.
Matthew was dedicated to his work at Wal Mart where he served as a deli worker for over a decade. He received his bachelors degree from OSU. His charisma and kindness made him a favorite among his coworkers and customers alike. Outside of his professional life, Matthew was an avid hunter and fisherman, always eager to embrace the thrill of the great outdoors. He was a man who loved deeply and lived fully, always ready with a kind word or a helping hand. His mother Bonnie Bartlett, sisters Janelle Wagenknecht, Starr Tattersall, and Melissa Russell survive Matthew. He joins his father, John Bartlett, and nephew Hunter Wagenknecht, in peaceful rest.
Matthew's legacy is not confined to his achievements but is carried forward in the hearts of those who loved him. He had the biggest heart and was loved by everyone who knew him, radiating warmth that will be sorely missed but never forgotten. It is said that "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart." In the spirit of these words, we invite you to share your memories and upload photos of Matthew on his memorial page, so we may all remember the love and joy he brought into our lives.
