Matthew Beardsley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Castillo Funeral Home on Jul. 2, 2022.
Matthew Aaron Beardsley of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Monday June 27th, 2022 as a result of the driver of a car not seeing him and turning in front of his motorcycle.
Matthew was born on April 4th, 1983. Following high school, he entered the Army. After returning home from serving in Iraq, and wanting to follow in his grandfather's footsteps (with whom he looks so much alike at that age) Matthew had a passion for wanting to help fellow veterans in any way he was able. Matthew had a loving relationship with his parents, and communicated often how he looked up to his adoptive Dad, praising him for his wisdom and advice. He loved sharing a good laugh with his mom while watching Jerry Lewis movies, and he wasn't afraid of acting silly with little kids and they loved him for it.
Matthew was preceded in death by his beloved grandfathers Warren Williams, and Robert Beckworth Sr, and grandmother Martha Faye Beckworth, his uncle Kurt Williams, uncle Keith Beckworth, his biological father Robert Beckworth Jr. He is survived by his grandmothers Eileen Baucom, and Phyllis Williams, his parents John A. Beardsley III, Kathleen A. (Williams) Beardsley, his sister Rachel Miller and half-brother Reese Beckworth, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held at Castillo Funeral Home, 520 North General McMullen Drive, San Antonio, TX on Sunday, July 10, 2022 from 5pm until 8pm with a Celebration of Matthew's life at 6:00pm. The following day, Monday, July 11, 2022, Family and friends will meet at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery for a Graveside service with military honors at 11:15am. If you would like to help defray the costs of the funeral you may give directly to the Funeral Home. Their phone number is 210-432-8586. In lieu of flowers, donations above and beyond funeral expenses will be put into a trust fund for Matthew's son Grady.
Matt's strongest desire would be to see his friends and family again in Heaven, and he would have given everything to see you there! Until that time, Matthew will be greatly missed. The funeral while a sad time will be a time of joyful tears and laughter remembering the wonderful times he had while here.
1Peter 5:7 KJV Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
