Matthew James Braun, 40, of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, in Pleasant Lake.
He was born December 4, 1982, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to James and Janet (Beaver) Braun.
Mr. Braun was a self-employed mechanic.
Matt was an avid hunter. His passion in life was working on cars, riding his motorcycle really fast, and enjoying his ATV's, RC cars, and other toys. He always would do anything for anyone and was helpful to all. But, most of all, he loved his children. He enjoyed teaching them to work on cars and to cook. He often took them fishing, as he loved being outdoors. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving are three sons, Riley Betz of Ashley, Tristan Humpleby of Butler, and Gabriel Braun of Butler; a daughter, Sevanna Braun of Butler; his mother and stepfather, Janet and Mark Dale of Osseo, Michigan; his father and stepmother, James and Nora Braun of Spokane, Washington; two brothers, Jon (Kayla) Braun of Angola and Derek (Jen) Pietarila-Braun of Schaumburg, Illinois; step sisters, Danielle (Jeff) Morissette of Fremont and Kyra (Scott) McVicker of Fremont; step brother, Devin (Natalie) Onofrietti of Horizon City, Texas; maternal grandmother, Martha Jane Beaver of Carthage, Missouri; paternal grandparents, Gerald and Sylvia Braun of Avilla; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his significant other, Jessica Goodman on August 19, 2023.
A celebration of life service will be planned at a later date.
Young Family Funeral Home, Hudson-Ashley Chapel, 612 North Main Street, Hudson is assisting the family with arrangements.
