Dunn, NC: Mr. Matthew Edward Bryant, age 36 of NC Hwy 242 South passed away on August 6, 2024 at his residence. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM- Saturday, August 10, 2024 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson. Officiating will be Pastor Eddie White. Burial will follow at a later date in Fellowship Community Cemetery in Angier with Military Honors.
Matthew was born on April 5, 1988 in Virginia. He graduated from Johnston Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Business and attended East Carolina University in Greenville. Matthew was a Black Hawk Crew Chief with the US Army serving from 2010 -2011 and completed an 8-month tour in Afghanistan. Once being discharged from the military Matthew was a correctional officer for the Johnston County Correctional Facility. He was a truck driver for EPES Transport and Martin Brower. Matthew was currently working for the State Employees Credit Union Operations Center in Raleigh. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed playing video games. Matthew had a lot of hobbies but his pride and joy was his son, Liam.
Surviving are his sons, Liam Ridge Bryant, Connor and Dillon Bryant; wife, Brandy Bryant of Dunn; mother, Ginger Bryant of Angier; father, Robert Bryant and wife, Liz of Angier; brother, Tommy Holland and wife, Callie of Marion, KS; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Matthew was preceded in death by his brother, Justin Strickland; paternal grandmother, Sudie Mae Bryant; and uncle, Elton Eugene Bryant.
The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service on Saturday at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Liam’s Savings Account, 7006 NC Hwy 242 South Dunn, NC 28334.
