Matthew Adam Cowee, 67, of Petersburg, Illinois, passed away on September 19, 2025, at his home. He was born on September 3, 1958, to Howard and Martha Ann (nèe Morton) Cowee in Huntington, New York. Matthew served in the United States Marine Corp. For 18 years. Retiring as a Staff Sargent. After the military, he worked for AT&T as an Area Manager for over 20 years. Matthew is survived by his daughter, Katlyn; his sisters, Patricia Cestaro and Elizabeth Solomon; brothers, Timothy Cowee and David Cowee; and his caregiver and friend, Wesley Pratt. Matthew was preceded in death by his parents. A graveside service will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois at a later date. Military honors will be performed by the Menard County Inter Veterans Ceremony Unit. Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg, Illinois is assisting Matthew's family with final arrangements.

Matt, You will be Missed and I'll never forget our younger days, our time in the USMC, Camp Lejune, and Othello, so Sorry Buddy, your still a Good Man, I will see you on the other side !!! Love Ya Brother !!!!
