Gary COWEE Obituary

1942 - 2024

Gary Everrett Cowee, age 82, passed away on January 24, 2024, in Spokane, WA.

Gary left behind a legacy of cherished memories and a profound impact on all those who knew him, both in and out of his time serving in the U.S. Navy.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Donna Cowee, and their three children: Michael Cowee (Shannon Cowee), Lisa Cowee, and Trisha Hughes (Daniel Hughes). His love and guidance will continue to resonate in their hearts and will forever shape their lives in profound ways. Gary is also survived by his brother Dan and was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys, his father, Everett, his brother, Rodney, and many beloved pets.

Being a grandfather (affectionately known as Popsie) came naturally to Gary as he leaves behind a cherished legacy for his six grandchildren: McKaylin, Tallen, Baylen, Joe, Emma, and Nick. His love and wisdom will continue to guide them throughout their lives.

Gary found joy in life's simple pleasures, spending countless years at the Pend Oreille River with family and friends, where lifelong memories were made on the boat, in the mountains, and spending quality time at the cabin he proudly built. His passion for classic cars was evident to all who knew him, reflecting his meticulous nature and love for craftsmanship.

In honoring Gary's memory, let us cherish the moments shared, celebrate his enduring spirit, and find solace in the legacy of love and devotion he leaves behind.

Gary Cowee will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched. May he rest in eternal peace.

The celebration of life will take place this summer at his favorite place, the cabin.
