I worked with Matt at New Relic. I started on his team, and I even got to meet him in person my first week on the job in San Francisco, pre-covid, which was especially lucky. Our paths diverged and merged off-and-on over the years, but I always looked forward to the opportunity to work with him. And, as the pandemic dragged on, it felt extra special to catch up at company on-site events at the couple of opportunities we had.
Matt´s biting humor and his astute observations may have gotten him into minor trouble from time to time, but it was also part of what made him loved by so many. And as you can see from the other notes from colleagues, he was cherished across the globe.
I cannot even begin to fathom the magnitude of his loss on his loved ones. I can only extend my deepest sympathies and offer my support to carry out his wishes for his niece. You, his loved ones, are (and have been) in my thoughts this past year, and you will continue to be.
Warmly,
Andrea

I looked forward to every meeting and call with Matt. He was smart as hell and funnier than that. You'd leave a conversation with him fired up and ready to go. His fierce love and loyalty for what he cared about shone through and you couldn't help but be inspired. What a beautiful person, Matt Culmone. May his memory be a blessing.

I would like to respectfully convey this message Matt's family. To his wife Anna, his children Nathaniel and Victoria, his dear mother Cathy, and his sister Sara. Although we have not had the opportunity to meet personally, I, as Matt´s coworker and a fellow family person, feel compelled to express my heartfelt sympathies and extend my sincerest wishes to you from across the Atlantic. It is my hope that, in time, the memory of Matt will not only evoke a sense of loss and nostalgia but will also inspire smiles as you fondly recall his enduring presence, his profound love for his family, his distinctive humor, and his zest for life that he shared on his journey with you.
With deepest sympathies and warmest regards,
Juanjo De Arana (New Relic's colleague)

Dear Matt's family:
I had the pleasure of working with Matt for a couple of years. He had the sharpest mind, the funniest humour and a great heart. He will always be remembered.
Despite we don't know each other, I'd like to send you my condolences and warmth.
