Matthew Todd Dexter

Matthew Todd Dexter, age 55, of Pickerington, Ohio, passed away suddenly on November 2nd, 2025, at Pickerington Methodist Hospital in Pickerington. Born November 14, 1969, in Lansing, Michigan to Larry and Norma Dexter.

Matthew was a man of quiet strength, faith, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. A proud graduate of Potterville High School, he went on to earn a degree in Mathematics from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and a degree in Accounting from St. Leo University. Over the years, he worked in a variety of roles, including The Post Newspaper, Emerald Highlands Farm, Colonial Sales, and This Week Newspaper, and was most recently employed with Quality Yard and Home Maintenance, where his reliability and strong work ethic shined through each day. Matthew was an active member of Pickerington Church of the Nazarene, where he volunteered faithfully, helped lead the men's group, and served as Committee Chairman and Treasurer for Boy Scouts of America Troop 21 in Pataskala. A true sports enthusiast, he could often be found cheering on Michigan State University and Detroit teams, or enjoying a round of golf. He loved playing cards and board games with his family, moments filled with laughter and friendly competition. Above all, Matthew was a devoted husband, father, and friend who worked hard to provide and always wanted the very best for those he loved. His kindness, steady support, and gentle humor will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Kathleen; children, Caleb M. Dexter and Cody B. (Gracelyn Frame) Dexter; father, Larry Dexter; siblings, Scott (Susan) Dexter, Robin (Dale) Anglin, Candy (David) Burris, Krystal (Jeff) Cox, Ken (Judy) Grotsky, and Cheryl (Joe) Hale; many nieces and nephews; and beloved furry companions, Stella, Peanut, and Pico.

Matthew was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Dexter.

Friends may visit 10am-12pm on Saturday, November 15, at Pickerington Nazarene (Picknaz) Church, 11775 Pickerington Rd NW, Pickerington, OH 43147, where the service will follow at 12:00pm with Pastor Calvin Green officiating.
