We didn´t know the brothers except what we heard on TV. We did watch the entire church service and listened to the wives of Johnny and Matty speak about the love they had for their husbands. Please accept our condolences to both families and remember all the beautiful memories you now have. Brothers forever. May the angels welcome them to paradise and martyrs greet them on their way. Rest In Peace.

Guy, Jane I´m so sorry for your loss.
I was sent this when my younger sister passed away a couple of years ago. May Christ guide you at this difficult time and may his light be on the steps you take as you carry on.
Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
That, we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you.
For an interval.
Somewhere. Very near.
Just around the corner.
All is well.
Nothing is past; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before only better, infinitely happier and forever we will all be one together with Christ.
In Christ we live

As a hockey family, we all were familiar with the Gaudreau brothers. I know my boys wanted to be just like them. Hearing more and more about what wonderful men they were off the ice are what makes me feel even more heart broken. Matty seemed to be such a huge support for his brothers career and his best friend. Matty was living every hockey players dream , not only did he get to experience the dream of playing professionally, but he was getting to coach and share his dream with other kids that looked up to him. I pray for your family and know that John and Matt will never be forgotten

Matthew was a young man who excelled at hockey, as evidenced by his career. But what I've learned about him and his brother John since they were tragically and wrongly taken is what good men they were - husbands, sons, fathers, and brothers.
That is what is so impressive about Matthew, and John. And then to hear of the little one on the way.
I just wanted to say that truly Matthew and John were good young men, and I am truly sorry for the fact that Matthew was taken from his family too soon. May the Lord bless and keep Matthew and John's families during this time of pain. God bless. From a hockey fan.

Our son had the honor and privilege of skating with these kind and generous men for the past seven years. For them to take this young, 18 year old GCHS graduate and not only welcome him; but to take him into their fold, still amazes us. It was never lost on us how fortunate he was to bond with them. Their kindness and generosity of time and friendship is a testament to their parents. We know that is something our Matthew holds dear and will never forget. Thank you for raising such amazing examples of true leadership, loyalty and friendship. Our thoughts and prayers remain with you and your family.

Mr and Mrs Gaudreau,
Many prayers for you and your family moving forward. It is still unfathomable the level of grief you and your family are dealing with. Many thanks to raising such exemplary men.
Many of us have idolized your children both on and off the ice, and the legacy they have left could not be emulated in 100 years, let alone 31 and 29 short ones.
May God bless Johnny and Matt always, and His guidance shine upon your family during this time.

To the Gaudreau family, your sons were inspirations to so many across North America. They meant so much to a lot of people, but most importantly, to their families. May God Bless you during your grieving and may you find peace with your loss. Glenn Sizemore, Maineville, OH

My heart hurts for you all as you say goodbye to Matt and John. As a CBJ fan, I enjoyed seeing how much fun your family had attending the All Star Game festivities to celebrate John. Hold each other close and know that you are so loved by everyone whose lives Matt and John touched. Madeline, you have so much joy heading your way in the form of little Tripp. Jane and Guy, these boys of yours were just amazing, and I hope you can find comfort in knowing they are together still and will be looking down on you all with love forever. Love to you all. God Bless!

Leaving too soon, both Matthew and Johnny, two beloved brothers who seemed inseparable, even when leaving this world that we know. We are thinking of you, the Gaudreau family and wishing you moments of peace and comfort as you remember these two magnificent men who touched the lives of so many and have left an imprint on hearts forever

So very sorry for your losses. There are no perfect words to convey our sympathy, but I can tell you what I see. I see the global hockey community mourning, remembering, honoring Matt & the extraordinary life he led. In the weeks, months, and even years that follow, that support will not waiver. We will continue to hold the entire Gaudreau family and Matt´s friends in our hearts and prayers.
The vigils and statements of the last week made something abundantly clear: you raised two wonderful sons. I truly hope you feel the love and support of the community in the days ahead.
With love and sympathy, from a Blackhawks fan
