Matt was a great guy. I first knew him when he clerked for Mills Lane. I last spoke to him in 2012 and just read this. So sorry to hear of his passing.

Hi Matt. I thought about you today and the last time we saw one another, and that little grin/smile you had on your face. Miss you.

I met Matt when after he started dating my cousin Shannon. She had always wanted to find the right guy to settle down with and Matt was definitely "THE ONE". I appreciated his intellectual prowess, his sense of humor, his perspective on life and how he embraced humility. Mostly, I was happy that my cousin met a really good man. He was an amazing father and husband. I miss you Matt.

I met matt in Mr.Mcleans 6th grade class and we became good friends. I remeber him being so witty and smart. Even then he was working on his buisness skills by running a gum trade. I recall buying Hubba Bubba gum from him numerous times for 5 cents a piece! My heart goes out to his family during this most difficult time R.I.P. Matt.

I'm so sorry I saw this too late to attend the celebration of life. I loved working with Matt at the Reno City Attorney's Office and grieved with him over the loss of Tanner. They are reunited. I grieve for his wife and daughter and I wish them the peace that wonderful memories can bring. Rest well, my friend. You were taken far too soon.

I had the good fortune of carpooling with Matt for about a year while we both worked in Carson City at the Attorney General's Office. We had many conversations on so many topics. Our greatest conversations were about our families. How he loved his family. Matt was a good man with a caring heart. My deepest sympathies to his beloved family.

I am so saddened and shocked by Matt's passing. I hired him to work for me at the Reno City Attorney's Office and he was a wonderful addition to the staff. He always had a smile, a great sense of humor, and kindness to share even in those hard times with his son. I was honored to perform his wedding to Shannon which was such a beautiful event and typical Matt pulling it off as a surprise to the guests who thought it was just an engagement party at the Silver Peak! The beautifully written obituary really captured the essence of this special person who we were all blessed to have known for too short a time. My love to Shannon and Molly at this time.

am so saddened about the passing of matt. what an unbelieveably beautiful tribute. which, not surprisingly, captures the essence of what matt was like as a child also.
i have never not known matt. we were born on january 13th, in the same hospital on the same floorjust a mere few doors down from one another. we were only an hour or two apart, we would often make a big deal which one of us was older. i think i was, but he might as well been several years older as he was the mature one no question. our moms knew each other so we occasionally played as toddlers, then went on to go to elementary, middle and hs together. my biggest memories of matt were when we were younger, he was very bright, unfailingly kind, funny and observant. he always seemed to know something you didnt was wise beyond his years. no doubt fern had a big impact, raising him on her ownwhat a cool woman she was.
sadly i havent seen or spoken to matt since hs, but often wondered where he ended up, knowing he would do something of great importance with his life. he certainly proved that and more from this beautiful tribute. wanted to let his daughter know he was extraordinary even in his youth, and the rest of us who had the privilege of knowing matt growing up would wholeheartedly agree. my heartfelt sympathy goes out to matts entire family. I had the great pleasure of working with Matt at the Reno City Attorney's office. Matt was one of the nicest, funny, good natured, I could go on and on. He absolutely lit a room up with his smile. I thought the world of Matt. He will be missed. My thoughts are with his wife and daughter. How wonderful that Matt was a part of your life. Cherish your memories. He was a wonderful man.

I had the privilege of being in the same building with Matt during one of his stints with the Attorney General's Office. My interaction with him during this time leaves no doubt that he was the consummate public attorney, a scholar, and a gentleman. His death is shocking as it was a life cut short.
My condolences to his family and may his soul rest in peace.

I met Matt at the Courts when he began working in the District Attorney's Office. He regaled our office with his wit and humor every day. His smile could light up the room. Words escape me with the news of his passing. I know he has reunited with his beloved boy and for that I am comforted. God Bless his wife and daughter and family. Matt Jensen was a good and kind man.
