Matthew J. John

Goslyn Cruickshank, affectionately known as "Matthew John" and lovingly called "Peck," was born on May 8, 1950, in Chantimelle, St. Patrick, Grenada. He was the firstborn son of the late Adlis Theresa Noel née Prince and the late Ralph Joslyn Cruickshank.

Peck grew up in LaBorie, St. Paul, where he proudly attended "Model School." He was a hardworking man who began in masonry before working with Grenlec and later M.A. Bullen & Sons Insurance Company. During the years of the Revolution, he served courageously in the People's Revolutionary Army, earning the affectionate title "General Peck."

He later migrated to the United States, where he was blessed with his daughter, Felicia. Standing faithfully by his side through life's challenges was his devoted wife, Frances John, whose love and care never wavered.

Peck was a true people person. Even after losing his vision, he remained deeply connected to family and friends, keeping in touch with countless phone calls and sharing news from Grenada. His humor, strength, and unmistakable presence will be dearly missed.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Frances John; his children, Derry "Pecky" Garraway, Keno Niguel Joseph, and Felicia Kathleen John and grandchildren Kadeem Adams and Kaileigh Adams. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Ainsley Adams.

He also leaves behind his siblings: Franklyn John (UK); Sandra, Rosa, Devon, and Brian (Grenada); Sharon, Ian, Shirma, Edwin, Anslem, Kelly, Shawn, Ashley, Kiang, and Sabrina (USA); and Lindona (Canada), along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends whose lives he touched in countless ways.
