Matthew Kuhn Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 24, 2024.
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Matthew Lawrence Kuhn of San Angelo, Texas on November 15th, 2024 at the age of 36 years.
Matt was survived by the mother of his children and best friend, Nikki, daughter Rowyn, son Landyn, stepdaughter Jordyn, siblings Chris, Malisa, Christina, Emily, Justin, Dilan, and Crystal as well as their spouses, aunt Karen and uncle Jim, grandfather Larry, grandfather Ken, countless nieces and nephews, and his fellow servicemen and friends.
Matt was preceded in death by his mother Stephanie, grandmother Susan, brother Thomas, and his best friends Arick Tarr and Eric Haiar.
Matt was born August 8th 1988 in Livermore California and spent his early childhood in Stockton California. In 1998, Matt and family relocated to Flower Mound, Texas. He was always the life of the party, a friend to anyone who needed one, his brother's best friend, and his little sister's hero. At an early age, Matt was set on joining the military. Matt enlisted in the Army in 2006 as an infantryman and earned an Army Achievement Medal, Airborne Badge, Combat Infantry Badge, and Afghanistan Campaign Medal with 2 Stars. His fellow servicemen describe him as charismatic and funny. He was the eye of the storm, calm when everything was falling down around him. He was the friend who would give you the shirt off his back. Matt loved making others laugh and in some cases, if you were lucky enough, he would do a strip tease to his favorite song "Pony" just for the sake of laughing. His laugh was truly infectious. After serving in the Army, Matt eventually settled down in San Angelo, Texas, where he met the love of his life, Nikki. They went on to have two beautiful children, Rowyn and Landyn. Matthew's legacy, charming smile, and love of pranks will live on through his beautiful children Rowyn, Landyn and stepdaughter Jordyn. Matthew was first and foremost an amazing and loving father to his two children. His life centered around protecting and caring for those he loved, his children always being first. Matt worked his way up from working in the local housing authority to a career change into IT. He was a hard worker and a great leader. Matt loved the simple life. He spent his days off with his kids at home having dance parties, baking cakes, playing at the park, or attending one of Rowyn's soccer games. He loved being at the lake with his dogs, long drives with Emo music blasting, and anything that involved him being the cool dad.
Celebration of Life will be held at 4pm on Thursday the 9th of January at Galilee Missionary Baptist. 721 W 19th St, San Angelo, TX 76903
