Matthew's life was a testament to the power of family bonds and the joy of fatherhood. He shared an unbreakable connection with his beloved wife, Jessica Cortes, and his five children, Adrian Burt, Gabriel, Sierra, Gabriella, and Matteo Lechuga, and his two step-children, Nathan and Gianna Cortes, who were the center of his universe. His love extended to his parents, his siblings, Erik Benny Lopez, Maria DeLourdes Prieto, Joseph Jesse Prieto II, Joseph Prieto III, and Joseph Prieto IV, and his in-laws, Tony and Cindy Ortega and Gina Kirkland, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who cherished his presence in their lives.
For 25 years, Matthew dedicated himself to his work as a truck driver for an office supply company, where his reliability and friendly demeanor made him a favorite among his colleagues. He took pride in his work, understanding the value of commitment and the importance of providing for his family.
Matthew's interests were a reflection of his adventurous spirit and his deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. A devoted father first and foremost, he found joy in the laughter and achievements of his children, always putting their needs and dreams at the forefront. He was an avid motorcyclist, taking to the open road on his Harley, feeling the freedom that only two wheels and an open highway can bring. His love for sports was evident in his unwavering support for the Raiders and the Dodgers, reveling in the camaraderie and excitement of each game.
