Matthew Keith McCollum, 28, husband of Amanda Lauren Mink McCollum, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024, at his home on Pin Oak Drive, Lancaster, Kentucky. He was born in Lexington on June 28, 1996, to David McCollum and Stephanie Johnson McCollum. Matt worked at the Kentucky Blood Center, where he practiced phlebotomy. He is survived by his wife, Amanda; parents, David and Stephanie; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert Mink and Kelley Parmley; his maternal grandfather, Gran Johnson; as well as a host of friends and family. He is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, John and Peggy McCollum, and his maternal grandmother, Sandra Kay Johnson. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 22, at Betts & West Funeral Home, with Pastor Steve Charles officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, where bearers will be Steve Rector, Austin Hall, Shawn Hall, Matthew Leasor, Shawn McCollum, and Lucas Moores. Visitation will be held the evening prior, from 5:00 – 9:00 PM, Monday, at the funeral home. Betts & West is honored to serve Matt and his family in their time of need.
