Matthew Reese McDonald, 28, of Lincoln, AL passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. A graveside ceremony will be held in his honor at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Hall Cemetery in Lincoln with Andy Thomas officiating.
Mr. McDonald was a native and lifelong resident of Lincoln and attended Lincoln High School. He spent much of his free time at home where he was an avid video gamer. Matthew also enjoyed spending time with his friends especially fishing and going out on the boat. He was an extremely hard worker with a very big heart. Helping others was one of his passions along with taking wonderful care of his grandmother, Judy. Matthew was a very soft spoken soul who was known for his gentleness and kindness, as well as, his impeccable manners. He was a loving son, grandson, brother, uncle, and cousin who will be missed greatly.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Leo "Mac" McDonald, and brother-in-law, Drennen Hutchins.
Mr. McDonald is survived by his mother, Paige McDonald (Michael); father, Matt Jones (Selina); grandmother, Judy McDonald; sister, Alana Jones; brother, Kyle Jones; aunt, Sherry Houck (Scott); nephew, Eden Hutchins; niece, Esme Hutchins, and cousin, Braxton Houck.
Kyle Jones, Scott Houck, Michael Long, Richie Jarden, Bailey Watts, and Matt Jones will serve as pallbearers.
Hayden Teneyck and Mason Wisner will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega is directing the service.
