Matthew Leroy McEwen

Matthew Leroy McEwen of Potosi, Missouri, was born on December 23, 1973 in Farmington, Missouri, a son of Gerald McEwen and the late Margaret Ann (Volner) McEwen. Matt passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022, having reached the age of forty-eight years, nine months, and twenty-four days.
Those who remain to cherish his memory include his father, Gerald McEwen; daughter, Kristen Ford (husband, Daniel); son, Matthew McEwen Jr.; grandchildren: Adalynn Dodd, Cohen Barton; loving companion, Dora Collins; brother, Daniel Lee McEwen; and maternal grandmother, Hilda Volner. Also surviving are other dear family members and friends.
Matt was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Ann McEwen on November 19, 2017; paternal grandparents: Malcom and Ethel McEwen; maternal grandfather, Howard Volner; and very dear friend, Jeff Spell.
Matt loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors-he was a sportsman. He enjoyed riding motorcycles through the years, one of his favorites being the 250 Honda. He was also a talented carpenter. Matt was a loving son and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 19th, 2022 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm at DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 10:00am – 12:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 12:00 pm, officiated by Elder Joe Colyott. Interment and final prayers will be held at Redbud Memorial Gardens following the service.
