Matthew Phillip Olson passed away January 25, 2026, in Biddeford, Maine, at SMHC.

Matthew was born in Hartford, Connecticut on May 21, 1974, a son of Dennis C. Olson and Sharon L. Cacase.

Matthew graduated from Scarborough High School in 1993 and later served in the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served alongside his brother.

Matt had many hobbies including playing guitar, riding dirt bikes, and playing cribbage. Matt loved nature, camping, animals, music, and cars, but most of all, he enjoyed spending quality time with his brother, Eric, his nieces, Janet and Presile, and especially his dear friend Kimberly.

Matt was a light to us all and will be missed by those who knew him.

Matt was predeceased by his grandparents: Bernie and Polly Cacase and Agnus and Leo Olson, his father: Dennis Olson, his uncles: Jerry Olson, Phillip Olson, and Jimmy Watkins, and his aunts: Shelly Olson and Sonja Olson.

Matt is survived by his mother: Sharon Cacase, his father-in-law: Ronn, his brother: Eric Olson and wife Janine as well as her mother Fatima, his nieces: Presile Sparks and Janet Olson, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins including: Meridith Olson LeBeau and Jimmy Cacase, his dear friend: Kimberly "Kim" Nichols, and many other friends and family.
